Corneal Reshaping Technology

What is it?

Corneal Reshaping Technology (CRT) is a reversible, non-surgical process that is used to correct myopia. This process allows people to see clearly without needing glasses or contacts during the day. Custom gas permeable contact lenses are designed from your corneal map. These custom contacts are used as a retainer to reshape the cornea during sleep. Corneal reshaping has been utilized since the 1990’s and has been further advanced since the development of highly oxygen permeable lens materials.

Benefits

  • The only treatment known to possibly prevent myopia (nearsightedness) from increasing
  • Ability to freely participate in sports/hobbies without the interference of glasses or contacts lenses
  • Eye irritation or dryness, sometimes associated with contact lens is eliminated because lenses are only worn during the night
  • The CRT process is completely reversible after not wearing lenses for a period of time

Who can try it?

CRT is designed for individuals with low to moderate myopia (nearsightedness up to –5.00 diopters) with or without astigmatism (up to –1.50 diopters).
